If you received a “tracking number” that doesn’t work or doesn’t link to a shipping carrier, it can be confusing. In some cases, this may also be caused by a technical issue with how certain email providers display or format links.
How to Confirm Your Order Has Shipped
The only official shipment confirmation comes from an email with the subject:
“Your Order Has Shipped”
This email will always include:
- A valid tracking number
- A direct link to a recognized shipping carrier (UPS, FedEx, or USPS, Ontrac, DHL, OSM)
Why You Might See an Invalid Tracking Number
Some marketing emails may contain links that display as numbers resembling tracking numbers. These are not connected to your order and won’t lead to a legitimate shipping page.
If a “tracking number”:
- Doesn’t link to UPS, FedEx, or USPS, or
- Redirects to an unrelated or unrecognized site
…it’s likely part of this issue and not tied to your shipment. This email does not reflect that an order has been placed or is going to be placed in the future.
What to Do Next
- Check your inbox for the “Your Order Has Shipped” email for accurate tracking details
- Ignore any tracking numbers found in marketing emails that don’t link to a carrier.
- Check the Customer Portal or your Credit Card transactions to see if there has been an actual order placed
