If your Omega-3 softgels appear to be stuck together, there's usually no cause for concern.
During warmer months or periods of high temperatures during shipping and storage, the softgel capsules can soften slightly and stick together inside the bottle. This is a common occurrence with fish oil softgels and does not necessarily indicate that the product has been damaged or is unsafe to use.
How Can I Separate the Softgels?
A simple solution is to place the bottle in the refrigerator overnight.
The next morning:
- Remove the bottle from the refrigerator.
- Secure the lid tightly.
- Gently shake the bottle.
In many cases, the capsules will separate on their own once they have cooled and firmed back up.
What If They Don't Separate?
The ability to separate the softgels depends on how much heat exposure occurred.
If the capsules were only slightly softened, refrigeration and shaking will often resolve the issue. However, if the softgels experienced significant melting, or if one or more capsules have broken and leaked, some capsules may remain stuck together.
Is the Product Still Safe to Use?
If the capsules are intact and there are no signs of leakage, unusual odor, or damage, the product is generally still suitable for use.
If you notice broken capsules, significant leakage, or have concerns about the condition of your product, please contact our Customer Care team and include photos of the bottle and capsules so we can help evaluate the situation.
