You may notice occasional darker spots, speckling, or variations in the color of your Longevity capsules. This can occur because several ingredients in the formula are naturally sensitive to moisture.
N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC) and betaine anhydrous are hygroscopic, meaning they readily attract and absorb moisture from the surrounding air. Although the jar is sealed, a small amount of air and moisture can remain inside the container after it is packaged. Changes in temperature during shipping or storage may also cause moisture within the jar to condense.
When NAC and betaine absorb this moisture, the powder may begin to clump or undergo localized changes in appearance. NAC can also oxidize when exposed to moisture and oxygen, which may contribute to yellowing or darkening.
Longevity also contains naturally pigmented ingredients, including PureQQ® and methylcobalamin, a form of vitamin B12. When moisture causes these ingredients to move or concentrate within the powder, their red or pink coloring may become more noticeable and create darker specks or uneven coloring.
How should I store Longevity?
To help protect the product from moisture:
- Keep the lid tightly closed when you are not using it.
- Store the jar in a cool, dry place.
- Avoid storing it in a bathroom, refrigerator, or near a stove or sink.
- Do not remove the desiccant packet from the jar.
- Always handle the capsules with dry hands.
